Mental Health Foundation Issue Guide To Help You Talk To GP Regarding Stress

Work-related stress is an increasing problem in the UK, which has one of the highest instances in all of the EU countries. British workers face bullying, harassment, overwork, and victimisation on a large scale. All of which produce a stress related impact upon our mental health.

With mental health being an issue which effects 1 in 4 people at some point in their lives, the need to seek help and support from the NHS means us talking to our GP in the first instance.

No matter how good our relationship with our GP may be, it is often difficult to do so because of the social stigma attached to mental health issues, both in work and in society as a whole.

The Mental Health Foundation recognises this and has therefore produced a practical guide with details on what to expect from your appointment and what your GP can do for you. By using the tips and advice in the booklet you’ll be able to speak to your GP about your mental health with greater confidence.
